Good things happening

These months I am writing away and waiting for the time when my thesis on human and nonhuman relationship will reach (some sort of ) an end. However, it’s never just that one thing, is it now?

This month I was happy to see the first video of my new performance-for-camera works of the series “Wounded Landscapes” take part in an exhibition in Pori, Finland. Thanks for pulling together this beautiful collection of works by a group of Lithuanian performers goes to the curators of the exhibition, beautiful humans and wonderful friends: Vaida Tamoševičiūtė, Katri Kainulainen and Maximillian Latva. The video was filmed by Saara Mildeberg, it has been so great to work with her on this (what a great researcher, artist and human she is!)!

Teaching, sharing, facilitating and embracing the magic that happens in these sort of exchanges has been a thing these months too. Last month I was leading a performance / listening / voice practice//workshop for a group of really magical humans on the invitation of Eglė Nedzinskaitė, curator of educational programmes, in the National Gallery of Art, Vilnius. In 10 days I’ll lead a listening / connecting workshop in Kaunas Artists’ House, with the aim to share the listening practices that help me ground and connect. In 5 days will present my artistic/- research practice to a group of students at Vilnius Academy of Arts on invite by Vygintas Orlovas. Such heartwarming moments to look forward to.

Throughout these months I was happy to see that the documentary “Voices from Bakhmut” by my dear friend Ihor Babaiev for which I was happy to create sounds, has travelled in a number of Ukrainian festivals and cinemas. It really deserves to be seen. And will be happy to share news about another creative documentary I made sounds for, which has just been selected for one documentary festival, soon.

In the background:
>> waiting for some sound stuff to be published (will make sure to share)
>> collecting data for a new project
>> preparing a trip for data collection activities
>> preparing a video for an exhibition that’ll take place in Meno parkas Gallery in August, with some brilliant humans
>> missing to get back to soundwork (planning to do so in June)
