Intensity…

with which this life is happening is nearly unsustainable.

I’m (still) shit at updating and (even more) confused with what I’m doing (than I was a couple of years ago, when I started on a journey towards Social Anthropology to feed some of my intellectual cravings and research needs).

July August was intense – I was organising an asymposium, which I wanted to device as a space of exchange, which would be not too official and sort of inclusive, and more like an exchange between people thinking about similar things from different perspectives. From the feedback I’ve received, it seems we’ve succeeded – it was a collaborative effort, and I’ve learnt so much in a very short while. Again.

September was spent between START|as residency in Rokiškis, a tiny town North of LT, where I was working on devising a soundscape of a city submerged in ever-present noise; a trip to Porto & Faro in PT, where Anesthetize by Mauricia Barreira Neves was being performed; and devising a lecture about performance in public spaces and anthropology of space and affect for the first-year students upon invitation by Vilnius Academy of Arts, as well as devising a collaborative performance meant to start the academic year and the four-year-cycle of the first-year students. Had loads of stress in advance, but what a wonderful flock of people I had the pleasure to work with!

At the moment I’m working on sounds for a theatre piece by Kristina Marija Kulinič, to be presented in November, very much based on field recordings, and a collective visual performance, to be presented in December – this time again upon the kind invitation from Vilnius Academy of Arts. It’s gonna be an intense time, I’ll try my best to focus.

At the same time I am trying to focus on writing (academic- and non- stuff), preparing for anthropology workshops for kids, recording (a possible album, I hope), and got an invitation to work in sound studios in Stockholm for some days 🖤

Life has been good to me these months. I’m so thankful to everyone who’s making it such.

However, I am very much behind with everything I’m collaborating on. My apologies are not cutting it any longer.
