One night in November I was making some field-recordings under a bridge. The ice was flowing down the river. Sometime near midnight, when I started recording the vocal, a deer leaped from the slope beyond me. And it ran, away from me, towards the city lights afar.
City lights and darknesses, noises over and under bridges, parking lots, street piano, street crossings, construction works, as well as a distant human voice and the sighting of the deer became layers of HIBOU, a short-form digital mini-album that I’ve released after a rather lengthy period of silence(s). I guess that’s the best way to end this year.
The album was created with the impulse from and for the yearly ‘Magazine for Kaunas ‘Į’.
