Back from Paikkari Performance festival in Sammatti, Finland, I sense relief. Grieving ritual performance was a collaboration with the bark of birch tree and it must have been the shortest performance I’ve made to date, although the tension was blowing my brain and resulted in severe back ache that lasted several consecutive days.

At present I’m trying not to go crazy while preparing for a live set at Mėnuo Juodaragis 2018 festival, as it’s gonna be the first time I’ll be sharing stage with three other people at the same time. Hearing drums + cello + percussion + my voice in such a way is really weird. Hope it’s gonna work! Even if it wouldn’t, it’s lovely to once again work with Gabija who has been by my side already with her wonderful satin-sounding cello, it’s exiting to rehearse with Adomas – he is gonna manage rhythm and percussion, and I’m looking forward to see what sounds Mindaugas will synthesise for me. Hope all this will work magic.
!! Performance in Paikkari was made possible by the support of Nordisk Kulturkontakt mobility support.
